The roll-out of the DVSA’s new connected test stations continues unabated and we have been flooded with enquiries from all over the Country from those who require the latest specification testing equipment for their test station.
As of today (07/07/20) both connected Roller Brake Testers and connected braking meters for permanent 4×4 or road testing are required.
For those that are not aware, connected MOT test equipment is the latest technology for test centres and combines the automatic efficiency improvements of self-populating MTS reports which saves reporting time, with the integrity of a system which talks directly to that same recording system which reduces the potential for fraudulent tests to be undertaken and reported on and whilst the system does not yet encompass all areas of the test bay, roller brake testers are already covered, braking meters as reported above will be a requirement from Feb 1st 2020 with further roll-outs over the year which will include connected emissions analysers and, eventually, headlamp testing equipment.
When the specification was released to manufacturers we undertook a root and branch overhaul of our existing GETEST manager software stripping back some of the functionality which had been superceded by the new data requirements that the connected operation flowchart indicated where required, and indeed some which were originally included which we identified from research were not being used by customers at all. This has lead to a operating environment for testers which is clear, concise and has some specific GETECH controls in-built to protect operators of multi test lane sites.
The system can be independently added to any existing GETECH roller brake tester to make it complient for the latest generation testing environments with an upgrade package that seemlessly connects your existing product to the DVSA MTS system.
